Loi Krathong/Yi Peng
Loi Krathong takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. On the night of the full moon,
visitors place their krathongs in the Ping River, making a wish as they do so.
Yi Peng, "Full Moon Day", coincides with Loi Krathong. Visitors make merit by launching paper lanterns into the air after making a wish or saying a prayer. The festivities last for 3 days.
